Meet Priscilla Cisneros, a proud Latina, Navy Veteran, and founder of Luminary Light Counseling, PLLC.
Her passion is for trauma recovery, veterans, and women entrepreneurs.
After serving her time in the United States Navy, she struggled with transitions and adjustments like many others; this helped her pursue serving her community through mental health. Her positive, kind, and empathetic nature will guide her clients to grow during challenging times and healing. As a therapist in Mcallen, Texas, she is committed to her passion for mental health and the people in it. She served as a Sexual Assault Prevention Response Advocate during her time in the United States Navy as well as serving the immigrant population at the local Humanitarian Respite Center in McAllen, Texas. She offers virtual mental health counseling sessions anywhere in Texas.
In May 2024, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in Mental Health Counseling, from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
She is now a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, supervised by April Schoonover, M.A., LPC-S, to ensure the best care for her clients.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-Associate) supervised by April Schoonover, M.A., LPC-S, she is a licensed mental health professional who works under the supervision of an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S). This allows her to consult regularly with her supervisor to ensure she provides the highest quality care and that she is effectively meeting the needs of her clients. Through this collaboration, she is able to uphold best practices and maintain a safe, ethical, and supportive environment for your mental health journey.
